In January 2020, Susan Shin Angulo was sworn in as Mayor of Cherry Hill.  She’s the first Asian-American mayor in Cherry Hill and the first Korean-American female mayor in New Jersey history.

Aaron Yoo (1979-Present)

Korean-American Aaron Yoo was born in Dallas, Texas.    He spent his childhood in Edison and East Brunswick, New Jersey.  He is a graduate of East Brunswick High School, where he ran track and played cello.  He graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a degree in theatre in 2001.  He is best known for his acting roles in Disturbia (2007), Friday the 13th (2009) and as Russel Kwon in The Tomorrow People (2013-2014).

Ailee (1989 - Present)

Ailee

Born Amy Lee in Denver, Colarado; Ailee grew up in New Jersey.  She attended Palisade Park High School and lived in Leonia.  She moved to South Korea in 2010, where she passed an audition and became an artist for YMC Entertainment. Ailee received multiple Best New Artist Awards.

New Jersey Schools

In January 2022 - New Jersey Governor, Phil Murphy signed legislation to require K-12 schools to include Asian American & Pacific Islander Heritage Month history in their schools' curriculums beginning in 2022-23 school year.
